Do you want to Escape to Create for a short while to find your creative self amongst like minded people, in the lovely seaside towns on Kent’s Creative Coast? If you do please sign up and youj’ll be the first to know about the next Escape to Create.

The last Escape to Create took place in  October at the Horsebridge Arts Centre in Whitstable, at The Pod in Herne Bay and in artists’ own studios.

People were  inspired by sea, coast and harbour life to learn oil pastel techniques; made mosaic hearts for their loved ones; created embroidered fish using simple stitching and decorative fabrics and made clocks using decoupage and the colours of the coast. Others learnt how to use  a sewing machine to create Whitstable inspired tote bags, created beaded bracelets and helped their children  to really observe and draw sea life.

Escape to Create workshops are suitable for anyone with a desire to learn a new creative skill or maybe revisit one enjoyed some time ago. So just bring your enthusiasm to explore your creative side.

All workshops are run by local people with a passion for their subject and for where they live. Not only do participants get the chance to create a unique souvenir from their Escape, but they get the inside knowledge  from a local too.

The October Escape to Create workshops were part of Kent’s Coastal Week , a programme of events and activities inspired by the creativity that can be enjoyed on the Kent coast. The week was launched in Whitstable on the week-end of 22/23 October.  Over 7000 people enjoyed free creative events on both days in a marquee at the harbour.

We look forward to welcoming you on your next Escape to Create.
